Why Do People Think The World Is Flat

People believe the earth is flat, mostly because of the bible. In “60 BIBLE VERSES DESCRIBING A FLAT EARTH” it talks about how the bible verse that says “And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. 7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.” It says that this line from the bible shows that the earth is flat because when God divided the waters, he divided the waters on the earth from the waters above the earth. So If God put water above the earth, then there must be some kind of barrier that is strong enough to hold up that ocean of water. This barrier is described in Genesis as the Firmament, separating the water above from the water below. They are referring to how they think that the flat earth is surrounded by a glass dome. They also believe that the earth is flat because another verse says “After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth.” This is what they believe shows the earth is flat, since it says “4 corners of the earth” It also says that the verse “Tremble before him, all the earth! The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved.” They believe that this means that the sun and moon rotate around the earth, instead of the earth rotating. So the earth does not rotate like people who believe the earth is round say.
